Morning Yoga Flow: Starting Your Day Right

There's something magical about practicing yoga as the sun rises over the Indian Ocean. Our morning yoga sessions have become a cornerstone of the Surf & Zen experience, helping guests start their day with intention and mindfulness.

The Power of Morning Practice

Starting your day with yoga sets a positive tone for everything that follows. It helps you:

  • Center your mind and body
  • Increase energy levels naturally
  • Improve focus and concentration
  • Build strength and flexibility
  • Connect with your breath and inner self

Our Signature Morning Flow

Our 75-minute morning sessions are designed to energize and prepare you for the day ahead. Here's what you can expect:

Opening Meditation (10 minutes)

We begin with a seated meditation, focusing on breath awareness and setting intentions for the day. The sound of waves provides the perfect backdrop for this grounding practice.

Warm-up Sequence (15 minutes)

Gentle movements and stretches to awaken the body and prepare for more dynamic poses. This includes neck rolls, shoulder circles, and gentle spinal twists.

Sun Salutations (20 minutes)

We flow through several rounds of sun salutations, building heat and connecting breath with movement. Modifications are offered for all levels.

Standing Poses (15 minutes)

Warrior poses, triangle, and other standing asanas to build strength and stability. These poses help ground you and prepare for the day's activities.

Cool Down & Savasana (15 minutes)

We end with gentle stretches and a final relaxation pose, allowing the body to integrate the practice and prepare for the day ahead.

What to Bring

We provide yoga mats and props, but you're welcome to bring your own. Wear comfortable, breathable clothing that allows for movement. A light sweater or shawl can be nice for the cooler morning temperatures.

All Levels Welcome

Our classes are designed to be accessible to everyone, from complete beginners to experienced practitioners. Our instructors provide modifications and adjustments to ensure everyone feels comfortable and supported.
